News from the Fire Chief:

Daylight Saving Time Ends:

Daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Please set your clocks back 1 hour.

 

Position on Village Board Filled:

Wendy Buchanan has been appointed to the Village Board to fill our the open term which runs until December 2020. Thank you to those who put their names in fill this term.

 

Do You Qualify For Free Weatherization To Your Home?:

If you reside in Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson or Sarpy County and own your home and meet income guide-lines you qualify for free weatherization. More information on this is located on the back of the Douglas Senior Center menu. Application forms are at the Village Office.

 

Owner Occupied Rehab Program:

We just found out there is another rehabilitation program being run through Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (SENCA). I am in the process of getting information about this program. Call or stop by the office if you are interested.

 

Open House at 230 Otoe Street:

We have all been watching the progress on the house at 230 Otoe Street. On Saturday, November 9th from 12 – 2 pm you can come and check out the house. There will be pulled pork sandwiches, chips, cookies and a drink. Bring a lawn chair if you want to sit and eat. There will be a free-will donation with proceeds going to Douglas Fire & Rescue.
